About the Dacha Centre
The Dacha Centre, operated by the Zaporuka Foundation, is the only facility in Ukraine offering free accommodation to families of children with cancer during their treatment. Since opening its doors in 2009, Dacha has welcomed over 1,100 children and their families, providing them with a safe, supportive home-away-from-home during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
Beyond simply offering a place to stay, Dacha creates an environment where children can experience joy, community, and milestones like birthdays in a caring and compassionate space.

For just $25, you can sponsor a birthday cake for a child staying at the Dacha Centre. Your contribution will provide a personalized, delicious cake, making a child’s birthday a truly special and memorable occasion — even in the midst of treatment.

Each cake is lovingly prepared by Nazar Dumych, our Ukrainian Director at The Henry Project, who is also a professional pastry chef. Nazar puts his heart and skill into every cake, ensuring that every child feels celebrated and cherished on their special day.
