Some days stay with you long after they’re over. Today was one of those days—a reminder of exactly why we do what we do.
We spent the day at The Dacha Centre in Lviv, a place that continues to inspire us every time we walk through its doors. The Dacha Centre is more than just a house—it’s a lifeline for families from across Ukraine. Here, parents and children can stay together, free of charge, while their children undergo serious medical treatment. Many of these children are bravely fighting cancer, and in the middle of that fight, The Dacha Centre provides something essential: closeness, support, and a sense that they are not alone.
Through our Easter program, we set out to create a day filled with lightness and joy—something that could offer even a brief break from the realities these families are facing. Together with the children, we decorated traditional Paska, the Easter bread that holds so much cultural meaning. There was flour on hands, icing on fingers, and laughter filling the room as each child made their own creation. Alongside that, we spent time decorating cookies, sharing ideas, and encouraging creativity in a way that felt simple, fun, and completely theirs.

We also shared a pizza party, gathering everyone together around food, conversation, and connection. These moments—sitting together, talking, laughing—are often the ones that matter most. They bring a sense of normalcy that can feel out of reach during long periods of treatment and uncertainty.
And of course, the day wouldn’t have been complete without a special visit. The Easter Bunny made an appearance, bringing chocolate eggs and a sense of excitement that spread quickly through the room. For a little while, the focus shifted entirely—from illness and treatment to celebration and joy.
What stood out most wasn’t just the activities, but the atmosphere. For a few hours, the weight of everything these families are carrying felt lighter. The children were simply kids—laughing, creating, and enjoying the moment. And those moments, however brief, are incredibly important.
This day was made possible through our partnership with Spirit of Ukraine Foundation, whose continued support allows us to bring these programs to life. Together, we are able to reach families where they are and create meaningful experiences during some of their most difficult days.
To our donors and supporters, we want to say thank you. Your generosity makes all of this possible. Because of you, we are able to create moments of joy, connection, and normalcy for children and families facing incredibly hard battles.
We are endlessly grateful—not just for your support, but for the community we are building together.
