Bringing Easter Joy to Children in Lviv

Today was a truly special day at one of Lviv’s children’s hospitals—a day filled with small moments that carried a big impact. Through our Easter program, The Henry Project had the privilege of bringing a little light, creativity, and sweetness to children currently staying in the hospital. In a setting that can often feel overwhelming and heavy, we worked to create something different: a space for joy, connection, and a sense of normalcy.

Together with the children, we decorated Easter-themed cookies. It’s a simple activity on the surface, but in that room, it became so much more. There were laughter, focus, creativity, and pride as each child made their own unique designs. For a moment, hospital routines faded into the background, replaced by color, conversation, and the kind of carefree joy every child deserves to experience.

And of course, no Easter celebration would be complete without a special visitor. The Easter Bunny made an appearance, bringing chocolate Kinder-style eggs and plenty of excitement. But what mattered most wasn’t just the visit—it was making sure every child felt included. For those who were unable to leave their rooms, we brought the celebration to them, delivering Easter treats bedside so that no one was left out of the experience.

Programs like this are only possible because of strong partnerships and shared commitment. We are incredibly grateful to Spirit of Ukraine Foundation for their continued support and collaboration. Their generosity helps turn ideas into real moments of impact for children who need them most.

Days like today remind us why we do this work. It’s not just about cookies or chocolate—it’s about connection, care, and showing up for children during some of the most difficult moments in their lives. It’s about reminding them that they are seen, valued, and not forgotten.

To everyone who continues to support The Henry Project—whether through donations, encouragement, or simply following and sharing our work—thank you. Your kindness is felt in every smile, every laugh, and every child we are able to reach.
