A Day That Reminds Us Why This Work Matters

Today was one of those days that brings everything into focus—a reminder of why we do this work, and who it’s truly for.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters and in partnership with Spirit of Ukraine Foundation, we were able to deliver Christmas toys to children at St. Nicholas Children’s Hospital. What may seem like small gifts carried something much bigger: a message to each child that they are loved, seen, and not forgotten.

Hospitals can be especially difficult places for children during the holidays. While much of the world is celebrating, these young patients are navigating treatments, uncertainty, and long days far from the comfort of home. Moments of joy don’t come easily in these environments—but today, for a little while, the atmosphere shifted. Rooms that are usually quiet and clinical were filled with smiles, laughter, and the kind of excitement that only the holidays can bring.

Every toy delivered today has a story behind it. Each one represents a person—sometimes across the world—who chose to care. People who took a moment to give, to share, to support something bigger than themselves. That collective compassion is what made today possible.

For our team at The Henry Project, these are the moments that stay with us. Not just the act of giving, but the connection it creates. The look on a child’s face, the gratitude from families, the feeling of community that stretches far beyond borders. It’s a powerful reminder that even in the most difficult circumstances, kindness can still break through.

We are deeply grateful to every person who donated, supported, and believed in this moment. You didn’t just give a gift—you helped create an experience, a memory, and a sense of hope for children who truly needed it.

As we continue through the holiday season, we carry this with us. Because this is what compassion looks like. This is what community looks like.
